The English Department at Lostock Hall Academy positively encourages pupils:

The department offers a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum which seeks to enable pupils of all abilities to make progress and to access all areas of the statutory requirements. The English Department and its staff provide opportunities within Drama, Media Studies, Library and ICT as well as the core English and English Literature courses.
