Media Studies KS4 Final GCSE Media Studies results are based on: 3 Pieces of Controlled Assessment work comprising of two textual investigations and the production of a media artefact - worth 60% - these pieces of work are usually completed by the end of Year 10 but may be re-visited in Year 11. A 2 hr 15min examination at the end of year 11 worth 40% - the examination is based on two media topics. In-depth study of these topics doesn’t begin until Year 11. The examination is split into two sections focusing on planning skills and investigative skills. Careers in the Media Anyone thinking of studying media studies at a higher level should take the time to look at the following courses available at local colleges in more detail. These courses could lead to further study at degree level or careers in media such as journalism; marketing and advertising or television production. |
