French & Spanish GCSE
During Years 10 and 11, pupils study similar topics to KS3 but in much more detail. At GCSE level the aim is to extend pupil knowledge so that they can communicate confidently with a sympathetic native speaker in a number of different situations.
Pupils will complete written coursework as part of their GCSE studies and also complete Speaking, Listening and Reading exams at the end of Year 11, each section making up 25% of the final grade.
During Years 10 and 11 pupils have had the opportunity to interview a French football player, take part in their own European Cup, visit traditional European markets and sample student life at Salford University.
