Physical Education

The Physical Education (PE) Department supports the school aims in recognising that ‘Every Child Matters’. We recognise that all pupils within the Lostock community are individuals with their own particular talents and needs. To this end we fully emphasise the need for pupils to develop their physical, social and emotional skills through taking up other roles within the subject other than that of performer.

The primary focus for our dedicated team of PE staff is to provide a safe, happy and challenging learning environment in which all pupils feel secure and confident in their own ability. We aim to offer the best possible physically orientated learning experience, promoting health and well-being, and developing the commitment to following a life of physicality through continued involvement within exercise and sport.

Our task is therefore to create an all inclusive learning atmosphere with a broad, balanced and diverse curriculum to suit and challenge all individuals. As a direct result of this all pupils are given the opportunity to achieve great success regardless of their level of physical ability. While the Faculty stands by the philosophy that participation in lessons is all important we also ensure that talented young sports people are provided with clear pathways to elite sport and competition whatever their circumstances.

Communication

At all times we wish to work as a team in conjunction with parents / carers as you are the most important partners we have.
