KS3 KS4 Departmental Routines |
Physical Education Activities & Events Within the Physical Education Faculty we are very proud of our excellent level of pupil participation within both curriculum based and extra-curricular activities. Our broad and diverse curriculum augments the development of physical skills and allows all pupils to achieve success at some level regardless of ability levels. In relation to the extra-curricular timetable there are a minimum of two clubs running during every lunch-time break and after school. All pupils are welcome to attend any of the clubs on offer and all are free of charge. Pupils are also given the opportunity to compete in a wide range of inter-school fixtures against other school within South Ribble, while teams are also entered into County, Regional and National competitions. We are always looking to introduce and run new activities with the expressive aim of ensuring that all pupils gain a positive experience of PE and school sport. We want to cater for all pupils’ sporting and exercise needs as we strive to empower them with the knowledge and expertise necessary to pursue active involvement in physical activity outside of school. Examples of the many established extra-curricular activities are:
Examples of recently introduced and new activities planned for the future are:
Pupils are also given the opportunity to participate within inter-form competitions and to complete accredited leadership awards. Over the years the Faculty has also organised many residential trips including outdoor and adventurous activities residential to Meymac, France and ski trips to locations such as Austria, Canada and France. |
