Religious Education GCSE

In Years 10 and 11 all pupils follow the OCR short course GCSE Religious Studies Philosophy and Applied Ethics with an option of studying full course GCSE in Religious Studies. This course offers the pupils the opportunity to study a broad range of philosophical and ethical issues in a Christian context. Pupils also explore the outlook of other faith groups and non-religious views in relation to the topics. Short Course pupils study 3 units in Year 10:

Religion and Medical Ethics
Religion and Human Relationships
Religion, Poverty and Wealth

In Year 11 pupils focus on the Philosophy units:

Good and Evil
Religion and Science.

Pupils who wish to study the full course GCSE must liaise with Miss Jones and Mrs Terry. These additional sessions would be held lunchtime and after school every week for approximately 1-2 hours.
