The science department consists of a new team of dedicated staff, with passion and enthusiasm for the subject. The staffing is as follows:

Department Aims

  • To provide for all pupils a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated science education.
  • To develop and apply IT, numeracy, literacy and communication skills in the study of science.
  • To develop in pupils a scientific methodology which will;
  • Encourage curiosity and enquiry.
  • Develop an appreciation for the role and implications of science in our society
  • Encourage sceptical and critical thought processes and evidence based conclusions and decisions.
  • Encouraging pupils to find out the answers to problems and questions, by research, investigation and experimentation.
  • Enable them to access a body of scientific knowledge.
